System changes to the setup in my home office. I must say that the PK modified Quad ESL 57 speakers are just a hoot and rival the best sound that I have had in this room. They take me back 35 years to the transducer that dragged me into this hobby...thanks!
System changes, the A23 Hommage has moved a little north to a new home feeding a happy Lamm LP2...the Shindo IC and the A23 speaker cable have moved a little to the east into a growing system.
Hello JB, congratulations with your decision to reactivate your PK Quad 57's. I have had a ton of fun with mine! I am unsure which way I am going to go with a preamplifier, for now. The Quad ll Classic amps are a wonderful match, I have not heard the Quad Classic Int. I have been spending most of my time lately with my other system. Do you still have your Dynaco amplifier?
Looking good. What are you going to do for a pre-amp, now that you sold the Leben? I'm thinking about re-investing in my Quad 57 system, and I am in the market for electronics. I've been thinking about an integrated (maybe the Quad II Classic int.) or, if not, possibly the Quad II Classic monos.
System edited: Cable updates...speaker, I followed PK's kind suggestion that I do not spend more than $100.00 on speaker cables for his modified Quad 57 speakers. So, I ordered some of those anti-cables...they fit the price and suprisingly hit the spot. Shindo IC's, finishing the chain from the Shindo 301 Player System through the SUT's and into the phonostage.
thanks for your kind comments. I am still a bit disappointed at the TW table. I cant seem to get it to sing. It sounds good, but not great. Since I use an SPU on the ortofon arm and there should be no alignment issues, just VTA. I have raised the back of the tonearm, which helped a bit, but overall expected more richness, texture, vividness and detail in the highs.
Hello Lowens, thank you for your kind words...most of my work now is spent cleaning disks :) I think that you have done a really fine job putting your wonderful mix of green and greenless items together for a great fit...I really like your cart! Jeff C. is a great resource and I bet it was nice for you to get his setup help with your turntable.
A home office with a shindo 301. Wow, how do you ever get any work done? Or maybe that is the point. Nice system by the way. Simple and well thought out.
