My power is in and different than what other people are doing. I decided to isolate my digital from my analog.
I have 3 30 amp 220 volt circuits feeding my stereo with 10 gage wire in my new dedicated room. The circuits are feeding 3 power isolators two 3 kilowatt isolators and one 5 kilowatt isolator. The isolators are transformer based units. The 5 kilowatt isolator has two 110 volt feeds, one for analog and one for digital. The 3 kilowatt isolators each feed 1 mono block amp. I am using hospital grade copper plugs to feed all my gear.
This seems to work well for my system. The isolators are located under my house on a concrete slab off so I don t hear the hum. I like using 220 volt better so you dont have to run a neutral line to the isolator. Seems like to me the neutral line is where a lot of the noise comes from.
I am moving into my new stereo room. Everything is on hold now. I trying to get power installed and then I am going to start room tuning. Pictues will follow.

I added a Steve Blinn Designs custom rack. I had special butcher block boards custom made up in the Maple country. I really like the way they turned out.

I just discovered Elrod power cables. I added one to the Sony 5400ES player and it made such a big difference making the sound richer overall. I then added one to the preamp which made my bass better. I then added one to each of my new Spectron monoblocks. This seemed to add more layering to my sound stage. I can't believe the difference.
I have just recently added the Savoy speakers. What a plus.
I have up loaded pictures.
My cables are a mess. I have been trying different ones. I am still waiting on some.
The rug is my tuning device.
Teddy has the most important job of all approving all new stereo components.
I added dedicated circuits with 20 amp breakers which made a big difference in sound.
. You mentioned that you didn't like the way the tuner sounded in your system. Did you consider a Squeezebox 3 run through your DAC8 and get internet radio? .
System edited: As much as I liked the Synergistic Research Tesla Apex interconnects the Purist Dominus Praesto interconnects are just a lot better in system. The midrange is just so very good.
Congrats on the Savoys!!! Your going to enjoy building a system around them!!! I just noticed you have 9'+ ceilings even better with the Savoys, and you were worried that you might have made a mistake!!!!
System edited: I just added the Joule Electra LAP-150 MKII preamp with phono. I ordered Spectron monoblocks and a Linn Lingo off Audiogon. I have been extremely busy testing equipment. What a rough life.
I used to own a Mark Levinson 36s DAC and transport and since the Levinson does not handle SACD all my 1600 CDs are CD format. The Sony does now give me the option. I plan to buy some but my local shops don't stock them. The angle is different but the speakers play more precise notes due to low reflections. There also is something about the door being open which helps to depressurize the room. This adds a little bit too. I guess it is a little different but the wife and Teddy like it.
My room dimensions were run through a computer program and 3 positions came up. This is one of them. What you can not see is the fireplace to the left and a corner of the room missing. To the right is the foyer with double door opening and the double door opening to a large dining room. There are not really doors at the dinning room and foyer. The room itself without counting the other 2 rooms is over 28x22x10 with one corner missing. I think you can get a feel for the room in one picture where I am standing directly behind the auditioning chair. I have tried speakers in different locations and this seems to be the best. Speakers also sound better with the door open and not closed. This door is rarely used. The normal path is through the double door opening going into dinning room and then into the kitchen. The room acoustics with these old wooden floors is fantastic. I do have a tuner, Magnum Dynalab FT101 in an up stairs system. I dont really like the tuner in the main system. It is missing too much top information in the music. It bothers me to have my speaker sound that way. I also have a theater system in the other end of the house. Both systems can be run without interfering with each other. There are 2 large bedrooms between the sound room and the HT.
