My system remained pretty static for a dozen years and I had even deluded myself into believing I was finally off the audio merry go round. Well, everything in the current picture has been replaced except for the power cables.
With the exception of the Atma-Sphere pre- and amps, the new components were added one at a time over the course of a couple of years. That allowed me to ascertain what each change brought and it's all been good.
Definitely got what I sought and expected. The Atma-Sphere/Devore combination is excellent. Extension up and down. Clarity across the board. Smoothness throughout. The system is run fully balanced and my satisfaction with the entire setup is quite high.
I listen to rock from the 1960's to the 2000's, various genres of jazz, and a smidge of orchestral productions. This combo can rock out, but has the finesse to deliver realistic female vocals, woodwinds, and strings.
I moved into a new house in the country awhile back. The room is approximately what is listed, but it's a spacious, open floor plan with an irregular shape. I sometimes consider adding a turntable, but the Benchmark does a great job. Even my hard core vinyl-fan audiophile friends say I'm not giving anything up much sound wise. If at all. Instead, for now, I'm going to focus on clean power and acoustics.
My thanks to those who have viewed my system and left kind words. They were all very much appreciated.
