This is my latest configuration. The Ayon - Dali combo is showing a lot of promise. I've gone back and forth between tubes and solid state over the past few years, and this time I've found a combo that gives me the best of both. I love the convenience of the Modwright Transporter and having all of my CDs accessible with a few keystrokes. Time to start some tube rollin̉…
Really lov your simple and clean looking music system. Currently I'm using 300w solid state seperates to drive my speaker which required 50w-150w. After listening to the Triton in the YouTube and read good reviews I would probably move to tubes.
You did mention about the heat. What is the estimated maximum temperature given off?
I have a dedicated air-con listening room. Could the cold temp of the air-con crack the tubes? The temp of the air-con set at 18deg.c
Hey John - my room is about 19' x 22' and the speakers are about 18" off of the front wall. My dealer did the speaker setup using the Wilson approach, and that location is where we got the best overall performance. In fact, throughout the process, they were inching the speakers closer to the front wall in an attempt to improve the bass performance. No boom in my room...
If your ever coming to Los Angeles and want to hear the Sophias with Joule gear e-mail me beforehand. When I first bought the Sophias I drove them with Quicksilver V-4's using reissue Genalex Gold Lion KT-88's, the sound was "sweet".
Very nice! Could you share room and speaker placement measurements? I've a fairly small room and need to go pretty close to the front wall (as you seem to have done), and have wondered about the Sophia 2s. Best, John
Thanks Samhar! I've viewed your sytem many times, and have tracked your comments as I've tried to advance my system over the years. I would love to hear the Joule stuff someday...
Great solution to the flat screen between the speakers dilemma, and a very nicely appointed room!!!!! You have the latest versions of my speakers and turntable also tube power with copper cabling, I think I would like the way your system sounds!!!!
System edited: 9-25-09: out with the Dali Euphonia MS4s and in with the Wilson Sophia2s. I love the Dalis (owned two pair of MS4s over the years), but was ready to go in a new direction and try the Wilson line. Early impressions signal a good match with the Triton Integrated. I definitely enjoyed the process of having a Wilson dealer in the room dialing in the speakers. I learned a lot about my room, and have an idea on how to address some of the bass and reflection issues we uncovered. More to come as I settle in with the Sophia2s
thats quite an impressive system youve got there! im sure it sounds just as great as it looks
also, props for the entire room! occasionally ill see people here with these outstanding rigs in rooms that are, well... not quite how i would decorate (thats all my opinion of course, so please, nobody take offense)
