I prefer the Avids due to the design of the table and how it distributes vibrations and their inherent distortions. In general I have a preference for suspension tables. To my ear they sound light and airy compared to mass load tables. It seems reasonable to assume that this has todo with my room acoustics. My listening enviorment is well damped/dampened. I cant stand reflections and edginess. I have listened to a few tables, still have my first, a Project. Before I purchased the Volvere I was considering a Nottingham. My local dealer had both so I was there a bit doing the A/B thing. One thing against the Avid is it is said to not mesh well with the Graham arm which was a let down. Conrad is tough to get a hold of but he always returns my e-mails........
Nice system.....I also own the dcs Delius....and was wondering that when you ''added'' the dcs Purcell, what did it do to the sound ? I have been thinking about buying a Purcell but was wondering is it worth the cost ? If you get a moment I would appreciate your thoughts on this.
