This system is used at my office at work. I have a very good sounding system that can get me through the day just fine (and I have my Tylers at home for when I want a "bigger" sound). The Eric-1s in particular are amazing speakers at their under 1K/pr. price point. The Jolida also has impressed me, as I never thought 30 watts a channel could power the (87 db sensitivity 8 ohm) Eric-1s so well... I had nothing to worry about, it appears. The newly added Consonance CD-120 is a perfect match for the Eric-1s rounding out the system.
System edited: System Edited: Swapped out the Sony SACD player for an older Denon DVD-1600 DVD-A player (better performace on CDs due to its Burr-Brown DACS).
System edited: I have added pictures of the system. It ain't pretty, but it does sound quite good. The speakers are about a little over a foot from the rear wall. All that junk in-between are my office supplies, records and files, etc. I have tried to place the speakers a bit in front of the shelves to help the soundstage out a bit.
System edit: Denon out, Sony SACD in. I still plan on upgrading to a much nicer redbook CD player in a year, but I found a great deal on this cheapy Sony player, and I have better quality SACDs than DVD-As anyways so I thought this would be a better stop-gap until I can afford the long-term CD player solution.
Thanks Phil for your comments... much appreciated.
I like it. Sometimes smaller systems can be very entertaining. I have a very modest system in my office and find myself spending time their in favor of my larger system. Phil Brady.
