For those unfamiliar with the Onkyo "Integra" audio receivers, since they stopped making them, and now only make HT receivers; they have a nice FM section like the Integra separate tuners. The TX-870 dates from the same year as the Integra T-4700 tuner right after the T-9090II. The amplifier section has a huge power supply. I think the receiver weighs 35lbs+. It is rated at 105 watts/8 ohms per channel and will drive all the way down to 315 watts / 2 ohms. It has a CD Direct button which bypasses the tone controls. There was also a TX-890 Integra that was 120 watts/8 ohms from the same period. Earlier Integra receivers were the TX-65 and TX-88 that date from the mid to late 1980s.
A reviewer in Audio Asylum compared the TX-870 with the NAD C350 and thought could not tell them apart. The NAD and Rotel receivers also are a great value if you want an all-in-one receiver when space is an issue.
