Beautiful system. I’m also thinking going into analog. Have a lot to learn still. Did not think I’d find another audiophile here. Is there anyone else in Albany from audiogon ? Message me.
It's vinyl and tubes! I like these vintage looks of your amps and speakers designed in vintage shapes as well. With output transformer you can run longer wires to your speakers as I assume you did separating your components from the soundstage. Room, rig looks simple and well developed. Calculator between speakers looks kool as well:-)
Hi, love the system, I can imagine how satisfying it must be, to be able to enjoy it on a daily basis.
Up until a couple of weeks ago, I was using the A 23 Auditorium speaker cables too, but I tried Tempo Electric's solid-core silver in teflon tubing, and I sold the A 23's the next day. Great match with my SET 300B and vintage Tannoy HPD's.
Thanks for the kind comments. Laza- I bought the Shilabe, and first tried it on a friends system. He has a slate plinthed Girard 301 w/ a Schick tonearm. The sound was excellent. As a matter of fact, my friend bought one as well. On my Basis/Vector 3 setup, results were much less astounding. It was rather flat and lifeless. I didn't invest any more in to my setup, to make the Shilabe work better. My friend has also moved on, to an Ikeda cartridge. The EMT Tsd-15 is a winner in my system, w/ my Amadeus table. It has excellent detail, and a big, bold sound. It is a sleeper for the money. It also seems much easier to match than a Shilabe. My friend also felt the Shilabe could be a bit fussy, unless everything was just so.
Great system. I have question for you if you wouldn't mind. I saw in your old post that you had Miyajima Shilabe - how would you compare it to EMT? I am especially interested in dynamics, body and transparency differences of these 2 carts. Thx
Gorgeous system! I'd love to hear the Shindo/Devore combination someday. They seem to almost always get reviewed together, suggesting an ideal pairing.
