back in 2010, you mentioned in another thread that you owned Soulution amps: 'The TIDAL Sunray... Its been a revolutionary experience for me so far. Right now, Im running them on an old Klimo tube preamp and monoblocks which have a rated output of 50Watts. Still the speakers are surprising me. Exhilarating. My earlier set-up consisted of a Soulution Amp...' May I ask why you switched the Soulution? I am considering amplification upgrade for my Contrivas now and Soulutions were on my list along with the Tidal amps of course. Can you comment on comparison Soulution vs. Tidal?
Smokes...now that is 'playing with power'...stunning system. I have heard the all-Tidal system at Audio Exotics in Hong kong...i have actually heard 2 of their systems. I was extremely impressed with the Stahl-Tek Vekian (prefer my Zanden)...but i have heard the Stahl-Tek Opus is another league from Albert Porter who recently posted his thoughts here. Now that is intriguing! Please tell us...how does it compare to Stahl-Tek Vekian? If you have listened to Zanden, pls compare as i know that digital best. (Though i have heard Scarlatti and auditioned quite seriously...respected but did not love.)
Pa10in and Bvdman, I think you should consider auditioning the Neodio NR22T CD Transport and the NR22D DAC,and you will be in for a treat and surprised the same time. They are ahead of the Vekian combo. Their NR22 stand alone CD Player won 5 out 5 stars from the Haute Fidelite review. The combo has a cult following in Asia (check the Audio Exotic forum). They have the most analog sound that I have heard to date , prediod. If you still wonder, please check with Peter Brem of Da Vinci Audio. The combo are his digital reference, and this is someone who is known to be a vinyl head.
Earlier I tried DCS full 4pcs stack, Meriadian, Metronome and Bow ZZ8 but believe me Stahl-tek is lot better than all of these.
DCS & Meridian were too digital and Bow & Metronome were smooth but not giving so much details compare to Stahl-tek so looking to your excisting set-up, I recomand Stahl-tek, just go for it and enjoy the music.
