Yes, the dynamic Quads do love power, though they sound great even with a small integrated. I believe that they would have been voiced with a Quad system and can imagine that you must be very happy with the music they make. BTW, I had a very similar experience to your - Quads and Silvers = superb resolution and details.
Enjoy your music.

System edited: Just added second Quad 99 stereo amp. Bi-amping has improved the over all imaging and cleaned up the midrange. I experimented with vertical and horizontal bi-amping both had their benefits but I stuck with the vertical set up as it was more seamless.

Hi Quadophile

I hadn't realised someone had responded to my system. I have found the chord cables (silver) to be wonderful, they were advised to me by chord. At first it did make the system a little bright more than I liked but after it had all settled down the sound was a huge improvement over my old copper cables. especially when the speaker cable and connectors were matched.

btw I have added another 99 amp now and the imaging is massive, this is my finest system yet. oh and quad have released an Elite series now based on the 99 series.

I can very well imagine the type of sound you may be getting from this nice system.

The only thing that I was wondering about were the silver cables. I did not have a good experience with that when I experimented with them. Good ole' copper always sounded better.

Anyway, I wish you many happy hours of listening!
