So, I've been at this for awhile and have spend tons of coin on tubes and tube gear along with cabling and single driver speakers. I loved my system.
With three little boys growing up fast I decided to cash out and buy some decent photography equipment. I saved my turntable only and am playing it through a MF X-LP -> Sony Receiver and old Infinity speakers.
Clearly, the sound is not what I was used to but, honestly, I still listen to tons of records every weekend and, after a few Belgian Ales, I'm tapping my toes and enjoying my albums like I used to.
AND, I'm looking at pictures I took of the fellas and editing them for printing.
Sure, I can't wait to replenish the system but, seriously, the marginal difference in sound is very minor to my tin ears.
I wish you would post images of the kids, I have fond memories of my son listening with me and some of my favorite photos are he and my wife dancing to music in front of my speakers.
Yeah, Pawlowski, it gets awfully tough at times, but if you keep a very stiff upper lip and remember that you will be blessed if you take care of your kids, you'll have an even more audacious system and life later on! I have had to wait 20+ years, (and my sound is more awsome now than it has ever been), so I am definitely feeling you! I am going to post some pics myself one day soon.
After some 5 years I still find your system along with Bwhite and James1969 the most interesting in all of audiogon. A great system to listen to music on no doubt.
