Sorry for my late reply. I just couldn't get involved in the stereo for a while.
epochal is a 7-band parametric equalizer which was soled only in Japan. When you remove the thick aluminum face plate, control knobs appear. After you have adjusted the parameters, placing the plate again prevents the settings to be changed accidentally. The face plate also works for the sleek look.
The functions and way to use are quite ordinary as a parametric equalizer. Sounds are polite and clean, compared to Focusrite Red 2, which is seductive but dull.

System edited: The 3rd SolidSteel has been installed. Gonna add MICRO SEIKI BL-77 turntable and ensemble phonomaster phono equalizer soon in my system...
