Description

I like it as it is, mostly for classical and some 50-60's Jazz.

the sub is the weakest point... planning to build a custom one to improve bass extension

Despite being French, it has taken me some time to aquire French equipment. I have been using mostly American and Canadian but recently bought some JM Lab Electra 926 speakers. Wow! What lovely sound! Their refinement is so...French. ;)

I want to try YBA in the future. I haven't been too impressed with it in past auditions but I think the speakers weren't always the best match. I auditioned Cabasse a couple times but haven't been moved to get any despite being very intrigued by them. Wish I could hear your system! Arthur

Very nice, basic system.

Well done, it seems like you spent the money well. I've heard a lot of good things about your CD player, including that it just mops the floor with the YBA CD1. Great seeing someone who appreciates french sound, it is the most musical out there in my opininon. Try some electrostatic speakers if you can some day, I have some Martin Logans and they just simply blow away cone speakers in their price range and above, unless of course you spend 3 times the money to get equal value out of cones (I've never quite understood why, as your system shows you can always augment poor bass with a subwoofer).

Enjoy the show.
