Real nice! I love the clean look and how everything is so balanced! How do you like the Core Audio Design stand? I'm looking at the same thing for my table. Is the height about right for you?
I tried Synergistic, Nordost, Siltech and Stage 3 cables. The Stage 3 Magnus Prime cable was far and away the best match for my system. I will be posting a review shortly. I highly recommend these cables.
If I was you, I would definitely try out the Argento Flow interconnects and speaker cable. That is a recipe that works very well for many people that own Tidal here in Europe and in Asia as well...
Posting some thoughts on cables. I have tried a full compliment of Synergistic and the Stage 3 Magnus Prime. The Synergistic were good. Soundstage was wide and open. If anything, I thought they were a little "technicolor"....almost exaggerated in my system/room. I then left some of the Synergistic power cables and powercell 4 in the system and tried Stage 3 Magnus Prime. Images were more focussed and centered in my room. Horns were amazingly lifelike and true. These are extremely neutral compared to others I have tried. They did not have the etched signature the Valhalla had with the Tidals.
I am working on a Siltech Prince/Princess demo. This is a little more challenging since the Cable Company no longer works with them. I may end up trying LS 188 mk 2 speaker cable with the Princess interconnect.
The ebony piano cera are sitting hapily in my room. Brian was great to work with. I am adding the einstein amp as well and will be demoing cables over the next few weeks. Thanks for the input. I will post some thoughts as I demo.
With regards to cables, I would only suggest to do some research on the Jade Audio cables. They have a midrange depth and harmonic richness that works very well with ceramic drivers, and yet, have no compromises on the upper and lower ends. This is a very difficult balance to accomplish in a cable, and I would offer that these are the real deal.
Adstew congrats! Did you snatch that ebony demo pair from the old importer? I've been eyeing on that pair, really love the finish. Each time I logged in here I used to re-look them in the buy section just to admire their exotic grain pattern. It must be much more beautiful live! As well, sounds wonderful.
As for cable, may I suggest you give the Siltech Royal line a try. A friend and fellow A'goners replaced his top line Crystal Cable with which he'd been using to very good effect with his previous speakers (Isis) with Siltech King. This after extensive auditioning/comparing the Prince with others in his system, and told me he could not be happier. He is running the Contriva Diacera SE now, with sole initial complain to me was that he found the mid and upper bass to be just a tad lean--a problem now completely ameliorated--though I must add, the breaking-in helped part of it too. Goodluck! Do update.
Thank you. I am replacing the Valhalla. They were great with my Raidho speakers. I am considering syergistic tesla apex, siltech and stage 3 right now.
Thanks for the heads up on the Poncho Sanchez. I've got a couple of his CDs but will hunt that one down. How are you enjoying the Einstein stuff? I'm very happy with my Light-In-Dark amp. I'd be interested to know the results of any tube rolling.
Thank you. I am having fun. I read your review of the Talea. Sounds like a fantastic tonearm. Also, saw that you are listen to some Latin...Poncho Sanchez Psychedelic Blues on vinyl is a good one. Cheers
