I like the way it sounds. Knowing this hobby I will want to change something soon but will resist. I stay up all hours of the night listening. This is a good thing but it's not helping my love life.
Wow!! What a magnificent looking room, great job on a nice overall vibe! Getting some good ideas from this on overall atmosphere for when I'll likely be having our home built with a dedicated room in the next couple years or so...if all goes well. Betting the system isn't half bad sounding either ;^)
At the time of their introduction Mike Rogers said the the Aronov amps "were the best amps that he had ever heard," I turned to him and said "I know that you appreciate what you are saying about all of the other gear out there?" He did not even turn his head to look at me, but just simply said "yes."
How much you like your Aronov amp ? I am thinking of getting one thru a trade...thinking about trading my s/s Threshold 4000...even trade...but kind of thinking monetary wise in the future. I like tube better than s/s....do you think SL-9100 is a keeper rather than older Threshold...which one will loose value in the future....aronov sl-9100 or the older Threshold 4000.pescolar
As I am in listening to Cab Calloway and viewing your very cool system and enjoying both. Nicely done space, love the lighting and artwork on the walls. Very nice system. Happy listening.
Elegant room arrangement and intelligent gear selection, very cool.
Did you send your pre amp back to John for the phono board? Which version did you go with, the 36dB (2 tube) or the 44dB (4 tube) gain? With the Shure V15 I would guess the 36dB would work well. Was there a noticable improvement from your previous phonostage? What else did you have done while he was in there? I see you have the outboard power supply as well, tremendous!
Cool. The basement club theme is very nice and original. I dig it. I know the system sounds great. Nothing beats tubes and analog. There was nothing digital about all the greatest music ever recorded.
