I thought I was done but you know how that goes.I decided to sell the SS gear and go tubed, this is what I came up with I do like the differance very much. I finaly realized I will never be done.David
great system-where did you get the dustcover for the turntable-it looks really custom-made. I have a Roksan Xerxes 10 with an SME arm on it-love it, but the dustcover design is borderline ridiculous-I'd love to invest in something like you have. I'm not married-I just have a series of girlfriends who break up with me every time I refuse to play their crappy AM pop on my system-but I digress...thanks for giving us the look! Happy trails, Mike
System edited: OK She said I was done but you guys were right. I just needed one more audio fix. Sold Rega p-25/Benz Ace. Replaced klipsch LaScala With JM Lab Mezzo`s also added 2 PS Audio powercords. David
Glad to see another McIntosh lover. The MC352 will probably be my next amp purchase and I can't wait for it. Congradulations on having such a nice setup. Arthur
You're not quite done yet my friend. Upgrade, in some cases at a lesser cost that what you already spent, on an all Zu Cable silver alloy cable system and you'll find out what your system is REALLY capable of. If you want the most dynamic, detailed, natural, grain-free, musical cables on the market; not to mention their outstanding value, look no further than these cables. Your wife will be happy because you spent less money and you'll be estatic your system never sounded so good. No hype, just the truth.
Likewise, my wife just shakes her head ever month when a new box arrives. I just point to the new car I bought her and do not say a word. But she points to the endless mountain of old components I have and tells me if you are not using them, why don't you sell them. (Haven't gotten around to it yet). Maybe 2003!!!
geez...I feel bad...some wives are rough!!! Mine spends as much as me, if not more, on fast cars (BMW), furs, Coach handbags, Liz Claiborne, days at the spa and CDs plus other "stuff" like casino gambling...so I'm not even listening when she says "no more" because obviously she is not planning to do the same. Furthermore I don't want her to be done (smile)! You are done if you THINK you are.... But is she also done with her spending? Small purchases add up fast. Every relationship has to have balance and REALISM. If she is frugal, then maybe you should be done...for now.
When it comes to my car, or my stereo gear, I simply don't say a single word about it. Wives generally just don't care, AND, they tend to get really angry if the expense cannot be justified in THEIR minds. So... keep the low profile, and they will appreciate both the good sound and you as well. Happy listening!
Getting rid of a wife is sometimes somewhat expensive, but I have experienced that and now I am finally purchasing the equipment I always wanted. I am very good friends with a couple and he has a vast record collection (3,000 plus) it is to the point of "if you purchase one album, then one album must leave". He still sneaks them in from time to time. He has moved his collection to the den which has a concrete floor. It was either that or put more supports under the hardwood floor.
I am glad you finally have what you desire --- "honey I just found something that will just make such a difference in my system" will always be in your future. Hope both of you can just laugh about it and go on.
