I tried the Hydra out. In my case, it did not provide any improvement at all. I am truly happy with my system. When I move again, I will likely look at Wilson Sophias or B&W 802s with the Diamond Tweeter.
System edited: Nodost Blue Heavens added 2/05. I could not believe the performance jump from the basic Monster Cable that was the remaining holder over from my old very basic Denon driven system. A very good match for warm sounding systems as a great deal of detail and timing have emerged from the ultra quiet backgrounds
I bought mine at Lyric too! I tried a bunch of cd players Arcam, Sim Audio, Naim and I thought that the Lector was substantially better than anything else. I had some concerns as well as I had not heard much about Lector. There is a small blurb on the model 7 in The Absolute Sound (very, very positive) and a full review is to follow soon-in fact Lyric gave the player to the Absolute Sound. The distributor for the US is actually here in the city which I found out when I was reading through my owners manual.
The Lector has a warmth to it without losing any detail.
How is the Lector 0.5. I was thinking about picking up this player, but am apprehensive due to the lack of information on it. I heard it at Lyric in NYC and was impressed. Thanks.
