I fell in love with the sound of Magnepans back in the early 90s with my first pair of SMGa then the MG-12qr and have now graduated to the MG-3.6r. My next upgrade will probably be a solid state amp.
Magnepans are fantastic speakers! I researched for a long while to find an amplifier which would drive them well. We use Adcom amplifiers and are perfectly happy. I think the GFA 555 and GFA 5500 series amplifiers would be a perfect match for your Maggies.
Thanks for asking Larry. I didn't have a question in particular but do you have an opinion with regards to an amp to drive my 3.6r? I have read and been told that I should use a tube pre-amp with a solid state amp as a combination. Audio Research comes to mind. Thanks.
