Hey Guys, thanks a lot for all the great suggestions. I know room treatments make huge differences, just never had any before/after type of comparisons myself. I will look into that. I am actually already much satisfied :)
I agree with Bruce30, get yourself some nice thick rugs and start taming that room. I would begin with hanging a rug to cover the glass cover on that fireplace. Good start with the Monitor Audio, my suggestion would be to go with the RS-6's all around, front and rears with the Gold Sig. LCR center channel. The RS-6's have the same tweeter as the Gold's so its a good match. Are you using a power conditioner? Good job and good luck!
Great start! If I were you, my next audio purchase would be floor coverings. I'd get a rug that covers at least 75% of the floor along with some tri-corner absorbers like "Corner Busters" or "Corner Tunes." Echobusters, however is currently undergoing "business restructuring" so you might have to wait a little bit on those. Tri-corner type absorbers are pretty inexpensive (about $180/4-pack) but are super effective at taming midrange issues.
