Yes Rhum_runner, the Hales have been and are still are excellent. As with anything you strive for you want to see what's out there as far as new technology as well as pushing ones system to new extremes. My customs are being built by a friend and will be unveiled as soon as they show up at my door. They are expensive but seeing that I'm getting passed middle age, these should be the last. (I can't afford this hobby anymore!)
Could you please share details of your custom speakers? The Hales are supposed to be fantastic, I'm wondering what you are replacing them with. I'm also considering custom/kit speakres.
Thanks for letting me take a listen.Very nice.Good timbre and transient attack.Plenty of room on the soundstage for everyone to breath in their own space.A good sense of musical expression. The digital EQ/preamp allowed very small frequency correction without 'throwing the baby out with the bath water". Quite an enjoyable experience-Thanx!
