I like seeing other people's systems here so I figured I'd add mine.
Plays LOUDLY to achieve a very live sound, especially on jazz.
Detailed, wide soundstage.
Analogue really beats out digital on this system but I do like the Sony and SACD is great.
Geez, reviewing this stuff makes me think I've spent too much money on audio but the truth is I've purchased almost all of the units used on Audiogon for a total of around 1/3rd the cost of new. Audiogon's System Builder pulls up a 1995 price of $10,500 for the Waveforms but I paid a mere $1,800 at auction here. Of course, that was my best deal yet. It's all still well beyond my means.
I'm thrilled with the sound but even with a dedicated line the system only truly becomes magical very late at night when the power grid isn't being taxed (excuse the annoying pun.) The difference is major. I really admire those here (I know of several) who've spent the time learning how to run off battery power, especially solar.
The only struggle I've had with this rig is trying to bring the high pass a wee bit more forward w/o getting too bright and allow the bottom end to creep back just a little. I think it's a matter of tuning with the right combo of cables, tubes and room treatments. I've always put off working on the room because I want to get OUT of LA but I've been saying that for years now.

I know exactly what you mean. I've been renting for years all the while looking for a new place to live. It's hard to get motivated to treat a room when you know you have one foot out the door.
Hey nice system. Upplug the Monster HTS 2000. Trust me I had one, and it appears to sound better, but it glosses over the sound and basically ruins it.
Regarding your Counterpoint: If you have 6DJ8's getting new ones might stop the problem of microphonics.
Funny you should mention it but I actually do have Signal cables (including speaker wire) all around except for two pairs of VooDoo Reference interconnects for phono. All seem to be of great value but I've never had the highly regarded wire to compare.
I don't know what the power situation is like in the rest of the country (or the world, certainly) but here in LA my lights flicker on a regular basis and the TV even takes a visible and dramatic dip when that happens. Obviously the dedicated line can only help clean up the circuit in the house so I'm still relegated to late-night listening when I really want to hear the music. Anyone else in LA having this problem? Dekay?
Spooky: For the past few days I can see way down below my house a lonely street lamp flickering in the dark and I wonder if someone else wanting to get out of this town is trying to signal for help.
Very nice setup. Change out the cables, then move to room tweaks that can leave LA with you. Maybe have a look at the Signal Cable products. Great bang for the buck. Gotta love those Counterpoint products! I still have (and occasionaly use) a 7.1 preamp. Sometimes a little microphonic, but what a great underated phono section. Re: OUT OF LA. Could be worse. Could be the Megalopolis of the Northeast Corridor. 20% of the entire population of the country, depending on a third-world power grid.
