It has taken quite some time for me to get just the right sound for my main system. Kind of an eclectic bunch of components, but the synergy in this system is nothing short of outstanding.
I was using a pair of Proac elixirs for a period of time before the Spendors. The Proacs have since been moved to the bedroom and are being driven by a naim nait 3. Wonderful combination if I might add. There is a rega jupiter 2000 and a highly modded planar 3 as sources with the nait. I wasn't sure about the spendors at first being accustomed to the proac sound, but over time I realized how sweet the midrange was and how everything sounds completely balanced. There is zero fatigue with the spendors. The exposure amp is a perfect combination for these speakers for a majority of the music that I listen to. I would however love to see what they were capable of doing with an exposure 2010s2 and 2010 power amp bi-amp setup. I am pretty sure that insane musical bliss would ensue.
Update!! It has been almost two years since I have updated my current main rig. A lot has changed. I have since completely abandoned the overly clinical right brained sound that I was shooting for and have since fallen in love with music again. There is no sweet spot here, just great music!! And honestly, who wants to sit in one spot on their couch in order to enjoy a favorite LP.
Very nice system. A true music lovers system there. And I agree with you, synergy can somehow make a good system great, more than the sum of the parts. That's part of what makes this hobby so much fun. You have to search for the components that add to the synergy. Nice job!
