I built a Hafler preamp kit in '80, so I was familiar with his work. I bought the Maggies without listening to them, I just read the reviews. They speak the truth. Almost all of my listening is HD Tracks downloads through J River. iTunes is for boys. I replace the Dynaco pre amp with a Dared MC-7P....great improvement. Way better than expected.
I just moved to this new log home, and the acoustics in this room are good to very good. I'm going to have to move them around a lot, because this will not stand. On the other side of the windows is Lake Tahoe.

Your nicely modded electronics make these collectable pieces a sweet deal. Have you considered vintage JBL or Altecs like the Valencia for your log home. Their midrange presence may be the ticket for your listening space.
Incidentally, I've always considered log surfaces of a log home would be nice to break up reflections. Is this not the case, maybe the wood structure resonates. You should post some better pictures of your system and listening space.
Hi , Love the maggies . I would recommend adding some absorption panels in your room. Diy or store bought. Money well spent . You will really like the maggies after doing so. How do you like the morrow cables ? I have heard good things about them but have not heard them ! Also the ps dac ?
