Description

Apple Macbook running iTunes in another room streaming WAV files to Apple Airport Express. iTunes is controlled via iPod Touch at the listening position. I live in Carbondale, IL which also has a great community radio station, WDBX 91.1, which comes in great on the Fisher receiver.

Did you get rid of your TT?

Nice system! You showed restraint, something I'm not good at being a restless person.
Nice atmospheric photos too!

Very nice system! As Ekobesky said, I also like the minimal mix of new and vintage.

Really wonderful system! I auditioned a Fisher 500C many yrs ago and was just blown away with how good it was. With the Klipsch's & Apple, it must be incredible. I don't really understand all the Apple stuff, but its pretty amazing when I think that my whole 1000 album collection could be on my ipod that it 10 credit cards thick

The iPod touch software version 2.0 supports the iTunes remote functionality and it really takes the hassle out of a server based system.

Beautifully simple system. I'm also using a Mac Mini music server and will never go back to CD's. Did you have to purchase a special application to control the Mac Mini using the iPod touch? Thanks!

Man, I tell ya...Fisher 500C, Klipsch Heresy, Technics 1200...three components built to last a lifetime. You'll probably enjoy them just as much 10 years from now as you do today. And if you don't, well, you can count on great resale. You're taking a very smart approach to sensible system building as well as synergistic component matching.

If you get the Technics, I highly recommend substituting the supplied headshell with a Sumiko model and mounting a Denon DL-160 cartridge. The DL-160 is a moving coil with output high enough to work with the Fisher's MM phono stage. Its "big" sound should go over big with any classic Klipsch fan, while its fast, detailed character will help counter the softer sound of older tube receivers.

Hey thanks. The next addition will probably be an SL-1200 mk2. I actually read your review on it earlier this week. Great review.

All you really need. Enjoy!!

Very cool mix of old and new. Love the Eames lounge chair, too.
