Well, I think I have finished on the upgrading path and I really am happy with the system. I got the 3D CD player and it adds huge amounts of life and depth to the recordings. I have an Elrod EPS-2 that I am going to try on the CD player, that would be my last change, otherwise I am planning on being happy for years.
After you groove with that Elrod; give us the scoop. Tony has been raving about this mother for months, now. I'm still leary about the values of killer/expensive power cords, especially when I, already, have the Audio Magic Stealth.
Yeah, I liked the M20s, but the JM Minis in my opinion are more detailed and create more of the actual image than the M20s can do. I had nautilus 805's in the past and looked for a new speaker. I looked at many including the audio physics, revels, thiels, dynaudio amongst others and really felt that the JM's were the superior speaker for the sound that I enjoyed at that time. Truthfully I felt that sound was a little too solid state sounding for me, but have since changed from the sim audio i-5 to the M3 and from a meridian 508.24 to the electrocompaniet. We will see what happens.
Well you're dead on with the Audio Magic Stealth Purifiers. I love mine. I am not crazy about Velodyne, though. I own a Sunfire Architectural sub. It's designed for 2 channel listening, not HT. Front firing. Bob Carver uses this too. You don't hear much about it because they are mostly into HT stuff. Check this baby out. Fast, tight, powerful, and DEEP! This sub is the best kept secret in the audio business. How many times do you hear of the ARCHITECTURAL line? Also, while we're on the subject of speakers; true the JM Minis are great. I wound up going with the Revel M20s. Not with their stands, but ones from Starsound Technology. Stands, as you know, are critical in the monitor speaker game. I think you'll get better sound for less money, believe it or not. This is just the beginning. Watch where you'll go with this post! I love it.
