Description

pieced this system together over the past couple years. don't really have that much invested but it really sounds great. someday i will upgrade the whole thing but i really like the quality of the old gear and don't feel that the new updated stuff would last nearly as long or just fall apart on the shelf. have wanted to try a modern day tube amp but im sure there are well made ones but your going to have to pay for them. the chinese tube amps i see for 500 to 1000 i just don't feel like rolling the dice on those. have been advised to try the single ended set amps but i just don't see that it could sound that good especially coming out of china....

Ray, I mostly listen to classic rock, folk, jazz and blues. I have really been on a female vocal, acoustic kick lately.

Jazz is kind of new to me, and I find some of it enjoyable and some is just too far out for me to understand and appreciate. I recently bought some new vinyl, White Stripes and Uncle Tupelo. I like them well enough to think they might grow on me. I have enjoyed Neil Young for a long time, along with CSN&Y. I also try to listen find and listen to the more obscure 60's band that never got airplay when I was growing up. Trying to see what I missed I guess.

I listen to very little country or classical. But even those I sometimes get in the mood for, but it doesn't last long.

I too went the vintage route with audio, as it was alot more within my budget. I am very pleased with it, as I am sure you are. Big money is not a requirement for extremely enjoyable audio. Congrats on putting together a system that brings music and joy to your life.
