The Clearfield rig is one of 6 (3 HiFi, 1 MidFi, 1 Headphone & 1 HT) setups in the house. It is pretty modest, but sounds good for the amount we have invested.

Goods:

Top end is detailed and airy

Midrange is suprisingly decent considering this is an all digital setup with silver cabling.

Bads:

Bass--midbass is kind of lean and extension is not great

Medicre:

Dynamics (macro and micro)

Ability to convey emotion

Tonality (wouldn't mind a splash more warmth in the midrange and more body top to bottom).

Soundstaging (throws a pretty wide but not very deep soundstage [layering isn't very good])

Imaging could/should be better.

I feel as if the room is the majorly cramping this stereos style and don't want to throw any money at components until it can be resolved. I realize that having 2 pairs of floorstanders complicates things, but thats what I'm working with.

Any cheap room tweaks (that don't asthetically detract too much!) will be appreciated.
