I built the GR-Research speakers after purchasing the kits from Danny at GR-Research.com. Excellent performance when compared to B&W 700 series and Paradigm Studio series. Wall treatments and traps are some that I built on my own researching the net for different ideas. Stand is also a custom stand I built and designed myself. Just recently replaced the glass with some tempered black tinted glass.
The A/V-3 uses the M-130-16 woofers. These are a 16 ohm version of our highly acclaimed M-130, 5.25" woofer. The paralleled 16 ohm woofers will allow the A/V-3 to remain an 8 ohm speaker. The -3db down point of this new version is 40Hz. This will allow the new A/V-3 to integrate easily with sub woofers while also playing low enough to be used without one for most types of music. The rear terminated transmission line controls the woofers vary well. Bass response is tight but also well extended for a small woofer. The slim floor standing MTM design requires no stand and has a small footprint. Floor spikes are also included. These speakers are great for high end two channel systems or as left and right mains in a home theater system. Out performing speakers many times their price, these are vary popular in the DIY circles. Outstanding reviews can be found on audio forums all over the Internet.
GR-Research AV 3s
Matching center for AV 3. Simlar specifications, but does not extend as low because of the sealed, smaller box.

The Power Console PF60 delivers the ultimate power conditioning for serious audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts. With 13 programmable outlets and Phase 6 PureFilter Circuitry, the PF60 offers six isolated filters to provide clean and clear power to all of your valuable components. The LCD status display allows users to monitor input voltage and output current on each individual bank of outlets. Each PureAV Power Console is loaded with innovative features, such as Multiphase PureFilter™ Circuitry, designed to remove electrical noise. Our advanced design isolates audio, video, and digital components, and prevents noise created by one connected component from contaminating the entire system. Built-in Advanced Overvoltage Protection automatically disconnects power from your equipment when the input voltage reaches a dangerous level, and restores power automatically when the voltage returns to a safe level. To deal with threats from sources other than your AC lines, all PureAV Power Consoles come with coaxial cable, pay-per view/phone, and broadband Ethernet line protection.
I'm not sure there was a huge difference, just small things I noticed with the treatments. Bass is what I'd call cleaner and it did help a little at one sitting spot off to the side on the couch there was a huge hot spot for the bass, I sat there when we watched a movie recently and it was not nearly as noticable, I'd assume that is the traps. From what I've read just make your traps as big as you can, the bigger they are the lower frequency they will absorb if my understanding is correct. Mine are 15 inches in diameter and are stuffed with fiberglass fairly tightly. Good luck!
You have a very nice looking set-up. Great job with the treatments and traps. I'm looking to do the same thing, that is build some that get the job done while leaving the room "livable" for the rest of the family. Did you find a big difference pre/post treatment? Any tips?
