@Lapierre None so far, the bass is actually seems easier to control with 2.

Well done Chris.

Any issues with controlling the bass waves with two subs?

@Jaxwired:

Thank you! I am huge fan of 2 subs that are integrated at the crossover frequency of towers. I found this at the Vandersteen site:

"There are significant advantages to using two subwoofers. Modern sources such as CD's, Laser Discs, DVD's and Video Tapes maintain full stereo separation to below 20Hz.Summing the channels into a single subwoofer reduces or cancels all the low frequency information containing phase differences between the channels. Stereo subwoofers reproduce all of the bass information complete with the phase differences that help provide the imaging and location clues we use to place people and things at distinct points in the sound field. Stereo subwoofers also improve linearity on mono as well as stereo sources by coupling the bass to the room at two points and lend themselves to natural placement near the corners where the low frequency room gain is often desirable" Once you go with 2 subs you will never go back.....

@Bajaed - I really like the Signal Ultra's. Frank Dai makes quality, affordable cables that he stands behind. One time I contacted him about upgrading, and at the time he actually talked me out of spending more than I had to at the time. He's honest. Which goes a long way with me.

chris72174

Chris, how do you like the Signal Ultra's?

bajaed

Looks gorgeous! Man those are beautiful speakers. I'm surprised you want the subs though.

Have yet to hear Blades, I have read accounts that they sound "similar".

I'm from Boston and I have gone through some major system transitions lately. Last year I purchased a pair of Paradigm Studio 100s and 2 Seismic 110 Subwoofers. I also bought an Anthem 225 Integrated. Shortly after I bought the Anthem, it would increase the volume (when using the remote) and wouldn't stop raising the volume and there was no way to stop the automated volume without unplugging the unit! Almost blowing my speakers.

I wouldn't have been so annoyed as this happened with 2 additional replacements.

To make a long story short. I ended up hopefully "fixing" the volume issue with a firmware upgrade and sold the amp to a friend who was aware of the issue and was ok with it.

I also sold my Paradigm Studio 100's and 2 Seismic 110 subs which I was not completely thrilled with, they were too bright and just not engaging and not a good match with my M6i.

I love the synergy of my system now, and feel that quality and sound wise I have taken a major step forward. I find the combination to be powerful but controlled, revealing and very musical.

I am strictly a physical media type of person, I need to have something in my hands. It's a psychological thing I suppose. ( :

Cheers,

Chris,

I forgot to ask......
HOW DOES IT SOUND?

Last question: did you compare to the Blade?

I like your choices
Are you by chance in Chicago?
Saturday audio exchange?

I listened to all your choices at SEA

I was debating on: KEF, PSB & Thiel
I ended up with Thiel
I went a notch down in price from your choices

The 900's are like Thunder & Lightening with the big Musical fidelity amps

I was able to drop a price point due to an existing Velodyne Sub for low bass & still get the coaxial sound of your Uni-Q

The uni-q/ coaxial drivers really make a difference I can hear, It must be the same for you

Superb job........

Now, go with music server as next upgrade vs CD only
I started with a Mac mini & amarra via USB dac
