Description

Its a system that is  mostly solid state , with the exception of the phono stage. Have both analog and digital sources, and I think my best component is my dedicated room. This is a locked space were only me and my guests are allowed, not that i,m anti social but i think is important to have a space for yourself, and near the family at the same time. Room mesures 23x14x9 ft.

Speakers are Gradient Revolution, my former speakers were Dunlavy Sc 2 .I have two Vandersteen 2wq subwoofers.

Groovey:
Thanks for your comments. Yes the Xerxes is a really nice table. a big improvment over my modified rega p3 i used before. Very quiet, impresive dynamics and very good speed stability. Although the Xerxes are excelent tables if you go into the used market make sure you get the Xerxes 10 or Xerxes 20, built after 1995 and 2005 respectively. The first Xerxes,s after a while devaloped plinth sag issues. Yes i probably go for the Neuance shelves as they seem to have a synergistic thing with the xerxes. Thanks for the timbarnation link, they look fair priced and well made. Regards, Carlos

System edited: i have just upgrade turntable from the rega planar 3 to a Roksan Xerxes 20,Tabriz Zi and Roksan,s Dx2 reference power supply and speed control. Big improvmentin every area of the analog reproduction. I would still need to add the roksan,s upgrade plinth to make it a 3 layer decoupled andwich and maybe try also the Neuance shelves that a lot of Xerxes users swear by.

I too have changed to Roksan Caspian M-1 CDP and have replaced a Transport and Dac with surprising results. The Roksan has brought a very nice system to life.

System edited: I.ve just made some changes: I added a 2wq subwoofer, and a hrmonix cs-120 speaker cables, Also i,m not using anymore the audio note Dac2 and the iluminati d-60 digital cable, the roksan m-series1 as a stand alone CD player surpassed the performance of the later combination.

Scott: Thank you for your recomendations on speakers. The Sonus Faber I already heard them and liked them, and i agree with you they are warm but in a good way. The Alon,s that you are recomending me as far as i know they don,t have a dealership in my country, I will look also into proac,s who do have a dealer here. Scott Thanks again for your comments and congratulations also on your system and btw very nice pictures. Regards, Carlos

Raul: Your opinions speakers are very intresting, I just emailed you off line for details on avilability in our country etc.., thanks for the comments on the dedicated room but for us was a real priority having two little kids in the house (3 and 1 years old). Saludos, Carlos V.

Carlos - very nice system! I really enjoy reading about and looking at the systems from people outside the US. I often learn something new or see audio from a different perspective.

Of the speakers on Raul's list, the Sonus Faber is a wonderful and musical speaker. They sound warm to my ears, in a good way. The Alons are personal favorites, and in my opinion share a similarity with the SF. Also like the Proac line. Best is to find a resource to listen yourself, and form a relationship with the one for you.
