All together this sytem took me a while to accumulate, starting off slowly. But I have gradually made it to the point where I truely feel as though I finally have something worth while. I'm very happy how everything looks and more importantly sounds. I don't see any near future reasons to change anything, and also due in part because my wife and I are saving for a home so we can get out of an apartment. I'm 25yrs Old and enjoy home entertainment and know I will continue this interest. Thanks for Looking.
The First thing on my next list, after buying the home, is to buy a great entertainment stand, but until then what I have will do.
Well, I'm in the midst of changing out my B&W's and completing a Swan Diva System. After listening to these Swan 6.1's fronts I can honestly say I love their performance, absolutely sound great, in addition they are very appealing to look at. I will be buying a Swan C3 center speaker and the R3 rear speakers. Following these purchases I will be researching a good external power amp to power the front and center speakers. I am also in the process of buying a house and will have a nice full unfinished basement to create a HT room. Very excited about this project and will look for tips on the way.
I would move the left speaker to the sub position and the sub to the left position and move the right speaker out the same. I bet the soundstage opens up a bit
generally, you want to match your fronts and centers, so if you swapped out your b&w center for a swan you might get a more seamless presentation. enventually, too, you might want to add an external power amp to the marantz to power your fronts (or fronts and centers). on the other hand, you may be perfectly happy with your current set-up, in which case enjoy in good health.
Thanks guys for the suggestions. My wife and I are in the final stages of buying our first home and I will be spending time the our full basement to finally build a room dedicated for movies and listening. I'm very excited to say the least. Now its time for me to draw up some planning, I want to do this right the first time. I will definately take pics of the process and of course the final result.
Boy,how I wish I had such a nice system, at only 25. Good to see someone like yourself with their goals in proper perspective. Your gear will sound good all the while as you save for the next spot to put your system. In the mean time, spread those fronts out as far as plausible. Happy listening.
I think you are on your way to spending more hours (and money) in front of your system. Looks like you are into the HT scene which is great. When you get the (bigger) room, pull those main speakers out from the wall a bit and get them apart just a bit further if you can. Sound stage will really open up for you!
