A good A/V system, that made me realize how important music is to me. Looking to add a good stereo preamp like the Dodd or Mac C-2200 with pass through. May sometime look at a new CD player like the Ayre or a Cary Audio. Not sure how they would fare aginst the Arcam.
Thanks, They are 7'- 8". Have a 1950's ranch that I converted part of the basement into a theater/music room. The tv is a 50" Samsung 1080p 120hg set (the model under the one with the LCD backlight). Really does have a great picture. Wanted a new Pioneer Elite Kuro set but this was half the price and gets you 95% there, IMO. Am cheating a little because I run and outboard scaler. Bought it to help the projector out. The scaler upconverts to 1080p which makes the tv really shine. Projector is only 720p but it still looks good with it's help.
Thanks, That is a temporary deal. Have been dreading calling DirecTV. Don't what the wires run all over gods green earth. The installers usually just run it the quickest route possible. It's driving my wife crazy too.
The HDMI and component video are already in the wall and hooked up. When I changed tv's my old one was only HDTV ready. Had no easy quick way to get sound out of the TV to the preamp and had to get the HDTV off air signal to it.
very nice set up. you should seriously consider having the wires from your plasma/lcd run in-wall to your components if at all possible. it would make your excellent looking setup outstanding!
It is in between the cd player and the preamp. Have tried taking it out but always goes back. It's hard to put your finger on it,but it sound better in. Bigger deeper soundstage, slightly warmer, more "there" there. Have a friend who has the same one and he loves it too.
