This is my present 2 Channel system. Recently had my MF A300 integrated amp modded by Tube Research Labs (TRL)and also upgraded my digital source to a TRL modded Marantz SA14 SACD/CD player.
Analog source is a KAB modded Technics SL-1200 TT with Dyna 10x5 and heavily modded Hagerman Cornet tube phono stage.
System is engaging, musical, and warm. Very appreciative of wonderful work of Tube Research Labs. The KAB TT/Dyna/Hagerman combo is wonderful.
Thanks to all here on Agon and AA who helped me along the way!
PS Audio Directstream DAC being fed by OPPO 105 for traditional CDs/SACDs, Ethernet from OPPO 105 streamed over Coax to the PS Audio DS, using local NAS. Also have a WIN 10 sending the NAS files via USB through a MATRIX USB to i2S input converter into the DS i2S input.
Prefer the USB to Matrix converted signal path into the PS Audio DS right now, but looking for a dedicated network bridge.
Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for your comments. I enjoy the PP1 very much. Have done some minor mods to it by putting Dynamat inside the chassis and replacing the stock feet with cork/rubber blocks. The PP1 handles any tube out there which makes tube rolling fun. Still keep coming back to the Amperex 7316's.
I truly admire your system for having chosen strong-performing components that are available at real-world prices. I recently got an Audio Mirror (linestage) preamp and I'm truly enjoying it. How is the PP1 working for you?
Replaced ACI Titan subs with dual ACI LFM's which were specifically tuned and made to pair with the Jaguars in a Wilson Watt Puppy type setup.
Sound opened up a bit more and the transition between the monitors/subs improved.
Am also switching between line stage driver tubes between CBS Hytron 5814wa and Amperex 7316. Both very nice tubes. CBS a bit more lush, Amperex more balanced and clear.
System edited: Recently have in place my new preamp (Audio Mirror PP1) and amplifier(s) Odyssey Monoblock Extremes. Sound is at a different level with this setup. I will spare people the audiophile jargon-it just sounds real now. Doing some tube rolling as this is my first tube preamp. Enjoying the different presentations of various tubes. Music sounds great these days.
