This is my retirement system. I started putting it together 5 years ago. I carefully replaced all the components that I had purchased from 1985 to 2004 one at a time to ensure a good synergy between the components. The latest addition, my new Dynaudio Contour Legacy are quite special. They replaced my Harbeth 30.2 40th anniversary which were great. Not easy to find speakers of this caliber for the size of my room.
We built our 4 season for retirement and now live in it. I bet you feel the same about your space.
Always been a big fan of Pass, Linn and Dynaudio. Enjoy!
I’ve had 3 Linn LP 12’s over the years….until I went 100% digital / streaming. Absolutely loved the table…did not like having too many tunes on albums that did not emotionally move me. Streaming allows me to build custom playlists, which works better for me bit to each their own.
Congratulations on your system and your view. Stacking your preamp on your CD player is less than ideal. Placing the CDP-10 beside your TT and the pre directly on the shelf will likely give you a free improvement in SQ.
@drubin the Pass Labs XA25 works well with the Dynaudio Contour Legacy. The speakers are 4omhs with 90db sensitivity which make them fairly versatile in terms of amplification. The Audiophiliac recently reviewed the Dynaudio using the XA25 among others. I also auditioned the speakers at the store using the INT-25, which is basically the same amplification.
Well, the Andros is a wonderful phono section, my favorite of the many I've owned. I just got the step-up transformers changed from the Jensens that came with it, to the Cinemag transformers that the designer felt was an upgrade. He was right! I also got the power supply updated, and that made a big difference.
In other words, I really enjoy what this phono section does for my vinyl listening. You can sort of sneak up on it by looking for some used SUT's and running your cartridge through that and into your built in phono section. I did that with a built in phono section (on a Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista preamp), and it was a nice improvement.
Thank you David for your nice comments and kind wishes. Luckily I kept my vinyl collection and just adding titles to enjoy vinyl playback. How do you like your Zesto Androw phono stage? A separate phono stage is on my list to complete my system .
What a nice system to accompany you in retirement! There is something about Class A amplification that just feels right to me. I hope you buy all the right records, and relax into that lovely room...
