Awesome system I also love Charney speakers heard them at CAF and that's a nice looking amp you have!

Very nice system.  I heard the Charney Companion speaker with the AER BD3 driver and it sounds terrific.  I particularly like that Charney speakers are compatible with low-powered tube amps.

Thanks for commenting.  My approach was to start with the most likable DAC I could find.  I really like the sound of the Brinkmann Nyquist so I built around it.  Next up was the VTL 6.5II preamp and that led to the Tube Sudio Lab 300b.  Lastly, I chose the Charney Maestro X with the AER BD3 drivers.  It wasn’t exactly a straight line to these components as I lived with different equipment and developed a liking for a certain sound.  Don’t ask about my budget:  it is a closely guarded secret.

Love to see more images, and to hear your process - how did you get here?Your approach is a little off-center - in an interesting way. I'd like to know your journey.

In my own journey, I've been trying to spend time with many different approaches - planar speakers, open baffle, now horns, etc. Single driver is yet another that I have never heard in good system.
