Description

I operate on a slim budget and I think what I have is pretty good sounding. Any thoughts on what I have? Possible subwoofer recomendations? I moved the stereo in the living room, and its the difference between night and day. Current Tubes: 2x Sylvania ECC82

I recently bought some Spica TC-60s on CL for $150.  I had to rebuild the tweeter and had the capacitors on the crossovers upgraded.  Sounds amazing.  I augmented with a small Velodyne MiniVee subwoofer.  I use the system with an Outlaw RR2150 for sound filler in my living room.

Thanks Fishcat1, I love the sterling a lot, its probably the best bass I've played. Its really good for playing out with all its punch and midrange quality, not to mention the accurate bass. I love the stingray as well, with its alnico pickups... it has a totally different sound.

Love those basses, man. I'm an audiophile/bassist too and just picked up a shiny new EBMM Sterling HS. Best feeling bass I ever put these hands on. Wonderful tone! Happy listening and playing, Slyle!!!

ah, sweet man. i really appreciate the recomendation. I'll have to look into those, because we dont have any local dealers (in rural illinois). Good to know someone else is enjoying these like i am.

Hey Slyle...I too have a pair of Spica TC-60's...they are on the clean/anylitical/dry side of neutral...in other words the wrong amp choice could kill your joy...I also have Rogue amps...just not in use with the Spica's. While the Rogue's will sound good...I'd give consideration to Conrad Johnson or Janis...something smooth and warmer. But you will not go wrong with Rogue...high recommendation for them.

Happy listenning.
