    • Dan D'Agostino Momentum Phono Stage
Locked inside the grooves of every vinyl record is the most realistic, most natural, most moving sound one could ever experience. The trick is getting that sound off the record and into your speakers. The result of tackling the pursuit of what seemed like the unattainable is the Momentum Phono Preamplier. With the Momentum Phonostage, every last bit of music hidden in even the most microscopic fluctuations in the finest vinyl records is extracted. Paired with the Momentum HD Preamplifier and the Momentum M400 or S250 leaves only wonder and awe.

By combining the finest possible analog circuitry with the precision of digital control. Every adjustment is right there on the front panel of the Momentum Phonostage, with its own LED readout. Pushbuttons on the front precisely control gain, resistive loading for the two MC inputs, resistive and capacitive loading for the MM input, and record EQ curve.

Knowing that even the best circuitry is no better than the electricity that powers it, the Momentum Phonostage uses a special AC power supply. Not one but two separate power supply components: a transformer that sits on the floor, and power rectification and regulation circuits built into the base on which the Phonostage sits. Thus, the sensitive phono preamp circuits are double-isolated from the transformer electrically, and also separated by a safe physical distance.

The Momentum Phonostage has numerous inputs to handle multiple tonearms and turntables. It has two moving-coil inputs and two moving-magnet inputs, each with XLR and RCA jacks, plus XLR and RCA outputs. The Momentum Phonostage was born without limitations.

As with all the other products from Dan D’Agostino Master Audio Systems, each Momentum Phonostage is built by hand in the Arizona factory.

    Features & Design

Full featured Network Music Player, Streamer/DAC/Preamp/Analog Inputs – Signature Model
Pure Class A triode vacuum tube output stage for single ended & balanced operation

    Signal Path

We believe that the simplest circuits work best together with the shortest signal path. That is why our pre-amplifiers to date have used single-ended Pure Class A circuitry. The shorter the signal path is, the less possibility of sonic degradation from various sources, including the wire itself. Even on the circuit boards, the copper traces are kept to a very minimum length. The completely redesigned circuit board provides a more straightforward and direct approach to the signal paths.

    • Transrotor ZET III
    • Etsuro Urushi Bordeaux

The Bordeaux uses the stylus with the contact surface of 80μm「Super micro line diamond chip, which accurately traces the ultra-precise groove. This special stylus is aimed to play the sound recorded on the record in its true colors.

The sapphire pipe material has been chosen for the cantilever. By using sapphire which carries superb sound transmission character and hardness, the Bordeaux achieved vibration transmittance in high speed without creating any distortions. Not only for the cantilever, but the Bordeaux also introduced sapphire material at the base section. The base section which comes in contact with the headshell uses 2.5mm thickness pure sapphire plate. Because of this, the vibration transmission mechanism is completed in one body so that the cartridge could thoroughly eliminate the loss of signal.

The magnetic circuit is combined with the electromagnetic soft iron and samarium cobalt magnet allowing magnetic performance consistent to the vibration of the coils to secure overall balance and thickness to the sound. The terminal pin has been plated with gold plating to increase the contact between the terminals.

The housing of the Bordeaux has been handcrafted and applied with Japanese traditional urushi craft on the Extra-super duralumin (AL7505). The urushi coating of each Bordeaux body goes through various complex processes, handmade by the craftsmen of the long established Urushi Sakamoto Company, in order to gain rigidity and the beautiful texture layering of the Bordeaux color. The details of this urushi are fascinating and could be observed on the first look of the Bordeaux cartridge.

The masterly shine and texture is truly a miniature work of art.

@blvckmvge Magnificent system! interesting combination of D'Agostino and KEF. If I may ask, who makes the white diffusers behind the rack?

scar972

Wow. Impressive system. Clearly carefully chosen for performance and look.

ghdprentice

Somehow you made 'bling' beautiful again. Good choices, technically as well. Great!

Dear milpai,
Thank you, it is great system, indeed.

Dear mnappi,
Despite the apparent difference in the level of components, they combine perfectly with each other.
I can say with all confidence that components that are identical in level or price do not always synergize better than components from different classes. Of course, within varying limits.

Dear bmansr1,
This hefty glass table was made by an incredible company that made great TVs, and it's thick glass that frankly doesn't affect the sound given the overall treatment of the room.

Dear jsalerno277,
Despite the relative differences in philosophy and approach to designing these components, the results they produce are truly stunning.
The components are connected separately to the amplifier and are used separately, if we talk about 069 and S-10. Moreover, the S-10 initially has an excellent DAC and DSD converter.

blvckmvge

Very well system 👍, great room too .

honeyooi

Exquisite!

Excellent system and attention to detail with the system.  Do you use the Burmester 069 stand alone or output to the Ayon S-10.  The system is a mix of design philosophies.  D’Agostino and Ayon representing (IMHO) a dynamic, detailed, presentation with focus on a darker tone and Burmester and KEF representing just as dynamic, detailed present with more of a focus on clarity.  I would love to hear how they meld together.  I personally I really enjoy the clarity of Burmester’s design philosophy.  I am a convert from Krell’s the dark side.

jsalerno277

Truly beautifully done - kudos - but with such great components and attention to other aspects (room treatment, rack, DS Audio Ionizer), it’s a little surprising to see what looks like a glass top table in front of the listening position - usually a no-no from a refections standpoint - have you tried without the table?

bmansr1

Disregard my last suggestion. Given the Momentum is an integrated amp with 250 wpc into 8, the high efficiency KEF is likely a synergistic match.

mnappi

Beautiful system. Love the D'Agostino gear as well as the Transrotor TT.
The KEFs are a very nice speaker but maybe not at the same level as your front end. I would love to see some Magicos, Wilsons, or Kharmas on a setup like this.

mnappi

Beautiful setup. I love the details in the pics. With those treatments, I am sure the system makes beautiful music.
