Description

In need of advice. This is my home theater system. In this forum, it's probably considered fairly mainstream. I've had to make quite a few compromises with the wife and the house. The only room that I could use as a home theater is 10ft wide, 18.5 ft long, with 10ft ceiling. My wife does not like racks, so we settled for Diamond Case Designs' Theater-Tech System One with automated ventilation system. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with performance but definitely would appreciate any comments/recommendations on where I can improve. I am very concerned over the sound of the room. There is definitely more echo than I care for, but I am not quite sure where to start with sound treatments.

This is in my opinion a most attractive set-up, and very neatly executed, especially given the relative narrowness of your room. If echo is a problem, and you are hesitant about putting uglifying acoustic treatments everywhere, you might first try some drapes on the windows instead of the blinds. This goes for the french doors to the rear as well.. If you are making design compromises with wife/partner, you could let her pick the drapery materials...
