Thanks mdalton. I love simple systems. The Classik bedroom sounds perfect.
Most electronics can always be repaired unless a specialized part is no longer available.
Thankfully, I have a friend who is an hign end audio tech with 50 years experience. He can fix just about anything.
Thankfully, I have never needed any service on this Linn gear, which is now all about 23 years old. Its really built to last so I am surprised your Classik “died”.
I had 3 LP12 tables until I went to 100% streaming via YouTube Music (paid), which includes ad free YouTube, which I love since I watch lots of non music video.
Never got into hi rez since I could never justify it with my ears after comparing on several occasions. I also have no room for extra boxes with custom cabinetry.
@linnie01 Thanks! You have alot of cool stuff. I’ve only had one Linn piece - it was a blue Linn Classik. I paired it in our MBR system with Quad 11Ls in piano gloss black. Really pretty, minimalist system, perfect for a bedroom. Alas, the Classik died a few years ago.
Great looking space. I too have systems in our family room, sun room and library, as well as my office and bedroom. And I enjoy them all, all the time.
I’m a vintage Linn electronics guy myself for good sound via a small chassis.
@mjcmt Thanks! Zoom in closely on my Vintage system and there you’ll see I have a little switch box that allows me to toggle between two-channel with the Leben (also EL-34) and home theater with an AV receiver. Maybe you can get that 4th EL-34?!
Lol, thanks! Yeah, I never really get rid of my stuff, I tend to repurpose it. Over 20 years ago, before we had a sunroom, the family room was where I had my main system, which included the Nak, and an Audio Refinement integrated and JMLabs speakers, the latter two of which are now in our MBR system. I picked up the Acoustic Zens from a place in Richmond 14 years ago while looking at colleges with my daughter - they were on consignment for a ridiculous price, so had to get them. And finally, I got the Triode used, again for a bargain, at the beginning of the pandemic when my big rig amp had to go in for repairs - I could not be without music during that time. So I’m really proud of that system because for not very much money, it sounds really good.
@jond Thanks! Actually it’s my 3rd system; check out my vintage system, which is the latest one I’ve put together for our recently renovated basement. Still, the family room system gets more use than you’d think - while it’s not set up well for critical listening, it’s the closest to the kitchen, so it’s the one we use when cooking or entertaining friends in the kitchen. As a result, we mainly use the Okto as a streamer.
And you even have a great 2nd system @mdalton the family room looks great and I love the look of that TRV amp. Try rolling in some GL KT-77s if you can my fave EL34 variant.
