    As of 8/20/25 these replaced the 1.7i.

    Roon endpoint to dac. Brand new. Still getting to know this product. Will report back when I’ve formed an opinion.

    Update: I like it. 
    • LaIV Audio Harmony DAC
    WOW! Balanced, detail (micro and macro), totally non fatiguing, Built to very high standards. Best I’ve heard yet (in my limited experience).
    • Parasound P6 preamp
    Amazing feature set. Sounds better than the P5 it replaced. I’ve never used the dac or phono sections but the preamp section is very transparent.

    Update: I listened to the DAC in the P6 while waiting for a new dac to arrive. I didn’t hate it. It really was pleasant to listen to albeit nothing to write home about.
    • PS Audio M700 Monoblocks
    UPDATE: These amps are driving the 2.7i with ease. Pleanty of clean power to spare.

    Drives the Maggie’s with ease. Also great for lower listening levels. These have shown me what the Magnepan 1.7i is truly capable of. Lots of detail, resolution and presence. Satisfyingly easy to listen to for long listening sessions. These replaced an Odyssey Audio Stratos (with Kismet upgrade) which was a real turd.
    • BXI Diffuser panels
    Does it do anything?….dunno. On second thought…yes! They diffuse certain frequencies. I’m happier with them in my room than without.
    • Apple Mac Mini
    UPDATE: Roon core

    I’ve drifted away from Roon and mostly just use Qobuz connect now. Will probably drop Roon when subscription runs out.
    • Hsu Research ULS-15 MK2 DualDrive
    2 subwoofers. “Double your pleasure, double your fun”. These blend well with the Magnepans.
    • BetterCables.com Silver Serpent ic and Blue truth ic and blue truth usb cable
    Well made cables.
    • Audioquest Niagara 1200 power conditioner
    Glorified surge suppression
    • AudioQuest NRG-Z3 power cables X 2
    Super stiff. Don’t sound any different than the stock PCs that came with amps, imo.
    • GIK Acoustics 4” and 6” Alpha panels w/1d scatter plates
    After 2 years of trying these in different locations around the room, my ears have gravitated them to the corners in the bar area and two panels directly behind my listening position. I took no measurements. Just trial and error until my ears were happy.:D
    • GIK Acoustics 2 Tri-Trap Corner Bass Traps w/range limiter panels.
    • DIY Absorption panels
    3 x 3’x4’ panels w/ rock wool. Covered in sarong material. Made w/ 2x4s. I had to remove the rock wool because it sucked the life out of the music. My imagination tells me that the 12 2x4s used to build the panels act as sort of  on wall baffles. Like I said, probably just my imagination. :)
    • Cardas Audio Cardas Neutral clear
    Balanced interconnects….kewl!
    • Myesound Magnepan stand
    Myesound stands. These replaced the magnarisers which made no sonic improvements over the stock Magnepan feet. The Myesound stands made a noticeable sonic improvement in soundstage imaging and focus.These are right proper stands for the Maggie’s. They’re keepers.
    • Magnepan 1.7i
    UPDATE: After 8 yrs of joy with these, I traded them in for a pair of 2.7i.

    I’ve had Magnepans (in one iteration or another) for the past 30 years. I’ve tried a few different “box” squawkers over the years but I just can’t shake my love of the Magnepan sound.
    • PS Audio Direct stream DAC MK1
    Love this DAC. Silky smooth yet detailed. No DS grunge here. This replaced a beloved Schiit Yggdrasil which I enjoyed very much but the DSD is a cut above, me thinks.

    UPDATE: Alas, this referb from TMR crapped out and had to be returned for refund.
