This virtual system includes some of the DIY projects that I have built over the past few years that are not part of my regular systems. I use them for backups, and in my workshop for testing new projects.
I've also added some work-in-progress photos of two preamp projects I am working on. The first (Preamp #3) is a single-chassis dual mono balanced design using my own differential tube line-stage design (now finished). The second is a two-chassis fully differential design based on the Vacuum State RTP3D (using five 6922 dual-triodes per channel). I have finished the power supply but have barely started the analog chassis.
Neurochrome Modulus 286 amplifier with linear power supply and soft-start.
Purifi DIY Monoblocks
Monoblock amplifiers using Purifi class-D modules. Large 1500VA linear power supply. Triode (6DJ8) input buffer.
jaytor DIY Preamp
Balanced line stage preamp using AMB.org A24 balanced line stage amplifiers, Khozmo switched relay attenuators.
First Watt DIY F5 Turbo Monoblocks
First Watt F5 with parallel output stage (approximately 45w/8ohms).
jaytor DIY Preamp #3
DIY Dual mono design (totally separate power supplies) with balanced and single-ended inputs, differential relay-switched attenuator, differential line stage utilizing NOS 6SN7 tubes with paralleled sections with CCS cathode load and Nanocrystalline push-pull transformer output, separate differential op-amp based stereo output for subwoofers, regulated power supplies and custom Arduino software for control.
jaytor DIY Preamp #4 line stage preamp
This project is in process. It is based Vacuum State RTP3D design although employs a custom power supply and software-controlled input selection and differential relay-switched attenuator. Each line stage channel uses five 6922 dual triodes. Like my preamp #3, this preamp will also include a separate op-amp based differential buffer for the subwoofer outputs. This is a two-chassis design with the first chassis incorporating the power supply and digital control logic (front panel controls and display), and the second chassis incorporating input selection, attenuator, line stages, and final power regulation.
First Watt DIY F5M stereo amplifier
DIY amplifier build based on Nelson Pass's F5M circuit design. Custom PCBs with balanced input and speaker protection circuits. Power supply utilizes a soft start, active rectification, capacitance multiplier, and large capacity energy storage. 25W/channel class A into 8 ohms. 50W into 4 ohms.
@mjcmt - thanks. I’ve been using Front Panel Express for my recent builds which you can see in my main system page. They have a free CAD program you can use.
The builds features here were mostly built using enclosures from the DiyAudioStore.com.
I get most of the basic parts from Mouser. More exotic parts from PartsConnexion and HifiCollective.
Fine craftsmanship on your amps. I'd try my hand at it if I new how to source the parts. I'm good working w/ my hands, but I'm not a metal worker to create parts.
