If you haven't heard a well designed DIY speaker, you are cheating yourself and believing the hype from mainstream manufacturers. They can't begin to produce a speaker with the quality of components of a good DIY design and also make a profit! The beauty of a speaker design is in the crossover, everything else just plays a supporting role.

The speakers were designed by a DIY guru named Jeff Bagby. These are called Helios (not Helios CM). They are a rather large standmount that go down flat to 33hz. The tweeter is beryllium mounted in a waveguided that serves to extend the frequency response lower to match the large 10” woofer (difficult to get right). There is a sidefiring passive radiator that serves to control the woofer excursion and extended its frequency. The kit can be found on Menuscus Audio. Thanks for asking!

Would love to know more about your speakers. They look fantastic. How did you build these? Take care.

My single biggest audio regret, selling my Threshold 400A. What an amp!
Really like the look of those monitors. Bet they sing.
