If you haven't heard a well designed DIY speaker, you are cheating yourself and believing the hype from mainstream manufacturers. They can't begin to produce a speaker with the quality of components of a good DIY design and also make a profit! The beauty of a speaker design is in the crossover, everything else just plays a supporting role.
100wpc Class A. It has been recapped and upgraded with select 'better' components. This thing sounds WAY better than an Amp of this age should! I was frankly blown away....
TEAC UD-701N DAC/Preamp/Streamer

Roon Labs Nucleus Plus w/SBooster LPS
DIY design by: Jeff Bagby Helios
2 way Beryllium Waveguided Satori tweeter, 10" Satori bass driver. 11" SB Acoustics passive radiator. F3 response of 33hz.
The speakers were designed by a DIY guru named Jeff Bagby. These are called Helios (not Helios CM). They are a rather large standmount that go down flat to 33hz. The tweeter is beryllium mounted in a waveguided that serves to extend the frequency response lower to match the large 10” woofer (difficult to get right). There is a sidefiring passive radiator that serves to control the woofer excursion and extended its frequency. The kit can be found on Menuscus Audio. Thanks for asking!
