Did you get a chance to feed DSD to the T+A? I understand that it sounds best when fed with DSD streams. But good to know that the Linn met your expectations. Enjoy your music.
@milpai I didn't like the Tambaqui much. I listen to a lot of classical music and felt the Tambaqui lacked energy with symphonies and the sense of grandeur.. It was just too quiet even at higher volumes. The T+A DAC 200 was better but something was still lacking.. Thankfully I was able to bring home the Linn and was smitten by the performance of the Mono Organic DAC, driving into the Burmester 032, T+A PA3100HV and the luxman C900U/M10X combo. I drive all three systems at the same time and fill the room with just good music even at very low listening levels.. Lately I got the SMSL SU-10 and I am blown away by how great this DAC at only $900 sounds in the system.. I am not letting go off the Linn though..
Thanks for letting me know. What made you sway from the Tambaqui to the T+A? And any specific reason to immediately jump from the T+A to the Linn? I am sure you are having a ball there re-listening to all your music on the new DAC and loudspeaker changes. Have fun with your music!
@milpai you'll see the Linn in the updated system photos.. I have now got a Burmester integrated added.. and moved from the magico A3 to A5s and also got the G2 Serafinos and Olympica 3s
Thanks @snopro I am sought of in a dilemma whether to try out the T+A DAC 200 as well. The mola mola has stellar reviews and I'll take your word for it as well with first hand experience.. Not that I make my decisions based on the ASR website which is very cynical of high end equipment, the mola mola came out to be a top DAC in their evaluation.. Also is the price still $13500 or has it gone up? Also, did you have to buy the remote separate?
Thank you @ghdprentice It's been a three year journey.. I have got the main components that I wanted. Now it's only tweaking little bit here and there like cables, power cord etc..
@baylinor I have not been tempted to do the acoustic treatment.. I might get a giant rug to cover the cold tile floor. In all honesty, with the high ceiling, symphonies and classical music sounds like I am in a cathedral and I kind of like that.. Agree, wouldn't it be nice to visit each other's system.. Thanks again for your kind post.. I am looking to add one more thing and I'll be done after that.. I am planning on the Audio Hungary qualiton X200..
Thank you for your kind post on my system page. You made my Sunday.
When you swap, you SWAP!
WOW to you. Wonderful selection of top notch equipment. It actually betters a lot of mine. However I would love to take both our systems for a test ride. I have like a feeling that the fireplace and lack of acoustic treatment in yours may make it a fair fight for my treated space. Well done, it does look classier than mine 🙂
@arafiq Thank you so much!! Every time I go down to the basement to that room, and I turn on the gear and listen, it transforms me to a beautiful, uncluttered, less worry mental space.. You are so right about the aesthetics and sound quality of the Luxman. I rushed into the Mcintosh gear (C53, 462, 352), after living with them for a few months, I was disappointed.. And then bringing home the D03X my first exposure to Luxman opened up my eyes.. Since then the Mcintosh gear were thankfully swapped out by the dealer as long as I get something twice as much within a year. I am just waiting on the C900U to swap out the C53..
Wow, Magico and Luxman! I bet that's one killer system you got there. I'm a huge fan of Luxman ... they have the right combination of beauty and performance. Do you still own the Mac gear shown in the pics or did you replace (or replacing) it all with Luxman?
Thank you @mrclick123 I love the A3's they pair great with the Luxman gear. I checked out your system. Nice and clean and beautiful. I have heard so many good things about the Pass.. Folks like Steve Huff.. The 595ASE is quite a beast on its own. I drive the A3's with it sometime directly and sometimes through the preout driving the M10X. I can use all the standard adjectives people use to describe how beautiful it sounds.. But you have to listen to in person.. If I were to borrow what Steve Guttenburg would say, The 595ASE makes you feel like you are breathing the same air as the performing musicians.
Nice gear! I have A3's in my system. Currently running Pass Labs amps. I have been very interested in the L595ase. I would like to hear your view on those pieces together. Thanks!
