Sunfire TGA-7400

This is a used, very well-cared-for, one owner Sunfire Theater Grand Amplifier 7400 (TGA7400).  It is cosmetically in excellent condition.  The 8 rating is due to its age. No scratches or dings at all. This is a monster 7-channel, 400W per channel power amp, which was never short of power driving a 5-channel home theater and Zone 2 with 5 sets of impedance matched speakers. It includes RCA and XLR balanced inputs and both voltage-source and current-source outputs for the front left and front right speakers. It also has auto-on signal sensing as well as 12 VDC triggers.
The TGA-7400 can produce 400W RMS per channel into 8 ohms, and 800W RMS per channel into 4 ohms.  The big breakthrough is the uncanny tracking 
downconverter, which uses 18 Herculean Mosfets. This allows the amplifier to produce phenomenal power output without the heat generated by conventional designs. A great product by Bob Carver.
The circuit boards are heavy glass epoxy, double sided, with Faraday shield on the back side.  All resistors in the signal path are 1% tolerance, metal film.  Critical 
capacitors are film devices with high dielectric strength and ultra-low absorption characteristics.  An enormous power source built around a massive power transformer provides the ultimate muscle for limitless dynamics.
Includes 2 kinds of outputs for the front left and front right channels: 1) a standard voltage-source, and 2) a higher impedance current source, which many prefer for electrostatic, planar magnetic or ribbon speakers. Used on my Martin Logan Electrostats. Or you can bi-wire your system with the voltage source driving the woofers and the current source driving the upper part of the system which is what I do.
