Selling practically brand new Focal Scala Utopia Evo’s due to a compelling event.

Condition:

Bought brand new from Focal dealer, delivered on June 1. It’s not a demo unit, not an open box deal, completely brand new. Total of 150 hours break in and I packed them in June 20 for the new owner to continue the break in process. 

Flawless, brand new condition. No fingerprints on lacquer, have not used the spikes. No pets, kids, smoke, vape, or direct sunlight. Methodical and slow break-in with low volumes, no extremes.

All accessories, packaging, and documentation included, nothing missing. 

Reason for sale:

It’s hard to say end game in this hobby but I bought these speakers for long term if not the last pair.
Under normal circumstances I would not consider selling them , but a compelling event changed things up.
I came across a pair of speakers through a friend and really liked them. We decided to split the fees and losses to make a trade among ourselves.

As for dealer involvement, I made a complex trade of multiple items including the Scalas with my dealer and I will keep the other items, so a return is not possible.

Listening impressions:

Any description about these speakers would need to begin and end with their imaging ability. The reviews out there talk about the walls coming down, I can confirm my experience has been the same, even with no spikes and no bi-wiring (just the jumpers that came with speakers). Overall presentation is just incredibly holographic and there's a live quality to it. Tonal accuracy, timing and pace are outstanding, at the very top tier. There's a lot to write about Utopia Scala Evo, they really are the pinnacle of what a high end speaker should sound like.
