Wayne's Audio "Master Signature" MC Phono Cartridge

Through the efforts of our technology team, we have launched another cartridge that we can be proud of after "Canary" and "Canary Plus".

This cartridge makes you look a bit like a famous name brand cartridge. And Yes, that’s right. We just took “VDH Master Signature” as a template, try to made some improvements, and then cloned it.

Cartridge materials include "Line-contact diamond" on a "Boron" cantilever, 5N OCC "Silver" coil, and an "Aged ebony" body.

There is only one solder joint from the coil directly to the pin, reducing the impact of the solder joint on the sound.

No need to explain, the sound is really great, When we made it, we were very surprised that its sound was probably no worse than $4000-$5,000 ones on the market.( We compared it to several cartridges, like: VDH, Lyra, Clearaudio, Dynavector,....)

We have the market price for this cartridge at around $3800, and I'm willing to give my first buyer a best offer of only $899.

This is why we always find it unbelievable that a phono cartridge on the market costs US$8,000 or US$10,000, which is so unrealistic.

I purchased the Master Reference cartridge from Wayne. I promised Wayne that I would write a short review if it sounds good. So here it is " It is stunning!".
One caveat though, it has to be set up properly, it needs the correct loading, gain, VTA,... etc..
I am so happy with the purchase. Wayne is also goes out of his way to help his customer.


I'm completely happy with this transaction with Wayne. This cartridge is a bargain. I'm unable to compare it to the VdH that it's based on, but I have several other cartridges in the 2-5K range that it compares well to. I'm in the process of doing a slow but thorough comparison to some of these, which I intend to share with Wayne at some point in the future. It's design requires that you connect your grounding wire to mitigate inevitable static surprises, and it may be a tad sensitive to VTA, depending on your tonearm. These are details that, if you love vinyl, you should already be equipped to address. Suffice it to say: if you have a vinyl rig that can mate reasonably well with the specs of this cartridge, it will not disappoint, especially in comparison to what you would have paid for something equivalent. I'm not sure at the moment that I own anything better than this. Oh, and IMO it looks great!
