Soundcraftsmen MA-5002 & SP4002

WOW!!!  Soundcraftsmen MA5002 power amplifier and matching SP4002 preamplifier in like new condition from 1978!.  Comes with factory boxes and factory packing.  Comes with ALL original paperwork, manuals as well as the Soundcraftsmen demonstration LP Vinyl record.  I would bet there is not another MA5002 and SP4002 in the USA that is in this perfect condition with original boxes and packing and all factory paperwork.  The amp is rated 250 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms.  Notice the photo of the factory test sheet on this particular amp:  it clipped at 300 w/ch into 8 ohms and 440 w/ch into 4 ohms.  At the rated 250 w/ch the distortion was 0.03% 20 Hz to 20 kHz.  The SP4002 preamp is just as amazing as the power amp!  It has 2 phono inputs with separately variable gain on each input as well as variable capacitance and variable resistance on each phono input.  Phono inputs work with low output moving coil cartridges all the way to normal output moving magnet cartridges.   I tried the phono inputs with a moving magnet cartridge and it was dead quiet even with the volume wide open!  Has the built in graphic EQ. 

All controls and switches have been cleaned and work like new, NO static.  All functions, lights, work perfectly.  The amplifier protection / power supply board of the amp has had key components replaced such as SCR, opto-coupler, and startup sequence opamp.  The only capacitors in the signal path of the amplifier have been replaced as well as bypassed by polypropylene audiophile grade capacitors.

They sound spectacular!!  Dynamic,  powerful,  detailed,  smooth, with great 3D imaging.  I have them set up to listen to in my living room. Source for demo is Tidal Hi-Rez streaming through SMSL m500 DAC.

You will likely NEVER have another opportunity to purchase a museum quality condition set of these again.  These are SO superior in condition compared to any others for sale currently or recently!!  Considering condition,  price is very reasonable.

Also, i will include some spare parts that are a little hard to locate including SCR, Opto-coupler, logic Opamp, Temperature sensor transistor mounted to heatsinks of amp.   I will also include copies of service manuals with full schematic diagrams.
