Questions for the seller
Glenn, Hey! Thanks so much for your responses to my questions! Contained within the 'long' list of numbers you sent is the serial number and production date for this cd player. According to the Bryston tech representative I spoke with the numerical sequence '2402' indicates this player was produced in the 2nd week of January 2024. This is helpful for me to know because the Bryston warranty period for a digital product with 'moving parts' is 3 years from the date of production, regardless of ownership transitions. I've never listened to a Bryston component, but they seem to have solid products with friendly and knowledgeable support staff-a plus in the buy column for me! My Aloia CDP 11.01 stopped reading discs last March and after a 5 month wait, the service center I am using has finally decided it is not repairable-no available parts. In addition, my back-up player, a California Audio Labs ICON MK II has recently stopped reading discs as well:(. At present there is another cd player I'm considering that has other features like 24-bit/192khz capability using Burr-Brown chips and has an inductive power supply like my Aloia player. However, I mostly have a collection of 'redbook' CDs for which the BCD-3 was created. Considering its impressive list of reviews it certainly has gotten my attention. At this point, I'm going to think things over for a few days before I make a commitment to buy. I may seem overly cautious, but I once made an on-line purchase of a DVD-CD player that was in need of repair on arrival. I'm hoping to make a decision within a week. Thank you for your assistance and patience:) Brian
Brian...glad we have the serial number sorted out and hope you'll agree that owning a brand new/sealed world-class CD player from a long-standing and respected hifi manufacturer, one which offers a phenomenal warranty, is the prudent course of action. And, the cherry on top is the price is right. Regards-Glenn
The serial number is found under the bar code that is directly below the word 'Silver' on the 'BRYSTON' sticker. Also, is there any damage to the box-dents, holes? Thanks
Brian...Consider carefully the following: -I, too, am ultra particular, but I have concerns with your questions about the box itself. As you can tell, the item is double-boxed and strapped. I've never seen packing as good and I'm in the hobby for over 50 years. Is the box as perfect as when it came out of production at the box plant? No, of course not. It traveled through FedEx and moved many miles. The exterior box is as perfect as a box which traveled can look. The Bryston box underneath the exterior box, from what I can see of it, looks great. No holes anywhere. Slight travel markings, yes. -I don't know if the numbers on the Bryston label are serials, but here they are: [filtered]0 43[filtered]240200501 I'm inclined to work with you, but not if it's gonna be a headache for either of us. You need to decide if a deal is something you can handle since you have not made one in a long history on the site.
Hey! Are you the original owner? When did you purchase it? Do you have a serial# and if so what is it? Why are you selling? Thanks:) Brian
Brian...it appears you joined in 2009 and have never done a deal. Here are my responses: -yes, original owner -it was delivered a few weeks ago -box is bound as shown in pic, so I cannot find a serial w/o opening the box which I will not do -selling for personal reasons
