Coincident Statement Phono Preamplifier

If you read the reviews you will know this one of the best phono amps in the market. The phono sound signature is one that is very balanced with delicate textures. It also has a lot of drive and very transparent. If effectively sounds like a mature product. I bought this unit for the phono stage and didn't really pay much attention to the passive preamp.

Well that "throw in" passive preamp is so shockingly good that it led to me overhauling my own system. When I bought this unit, I was using a Gryphon Pandora preamp (cost about $30K) that was hooked up to a Gryphon Essence amplifier. I'm here to tell you, I prefered the performance of the Coincident preamp to the near 5x more expensive Pandora; it sounded more direct, more resolving and true to the source. I also appreciated the ability to independently control each volume channel independently; this is very useful when listening to older stereo jazz recordings where instruments hard panned right and left.

This effectively led to me getting out of Gryphon and going into Aries Cerat for my DAC, preamp and phono. If you are wondering, the Aries Cerat phono and preamp are better but the combo will cost way more than this piece.

I'm the 1st owner; unit was purchased October 2023 and I used it for about 6 months. It is cosmetically and operationally perfect. Buyer responsible for paypal fees and shipping. Unit comes with all original packaging. For an extra $150, I can include matching NOS mullard tubes that have had very little use.
