For sale is a GeerFab Digital Breakout Box (D.BOB). If you’re reading, you know the idea behind this clever component. It can help you achieve a high-fidelity DVD audio+video setup, getting video in real time to your TV while sending a legitimately full resolution copy protected audio signal to your DAC via Coax / Toslink S/PDIF. DACs supporting HDCP decoding (as many do) will then play your 48k/24 bit or other DVD audio portion without reduced resolution. The D.BOB can perform a similar feat with SACDs, supporting DSD over PCM on a player’s HDMI out connection, and sending DSD64 to the DAC.
